The Old Course

Originally designed by renowned golf architect Bradford Benz in 1991, the prestigious Zagaleta Old Course was redesigned in 2016 by Marc Westenborg. His brief was to create a championship-standard course on a verdant carpet that follows the undulating contours of the hills on the estate.  The intimate course follows a lush valley within an amphitheater of wooded hills and rising peaks, where deer graze in the lush scenery and mesmerizing views of the sea and Marbella come into view as the game progresses. This is a course of classic elegance and panoramic picture-postcard surroundings. Immaculate greens are reached via fairways dotted with bunkers, water features, and natural and man-made hazards. The result is a highly rewarding golfing experience that challenges advanced players while nurturing those new to the game.

The New Course

This par-70 course was inaugurated in 2005 and truly merges golf with nature thanks to designer Steve Marnoch, who took great care to ensure the course blends in with its beautiful surroundings. The New Course is a playful but dramatic 18-holes of wonderful obstacles and sharp doglegs.  It offers more dramatic gradients than the  Old  Course,  adding a  new dimension to the course’s character and providing unforgettable sights along the way. It was also very important to give the New Course its own unique feel to offer a different golfing experience to that of the Old Course. As a result, golfers enjoy a genuine choice of courses to suit any mood or skill level on this 36-hole parkland oasis.

Riding Club & Equestrian Centre

The immaculate Zagaleta Riding Club is like an elegant country home, offering first-class equestrian facilities in a peaceful, verdant setting. This is a private world of privilege, a members-only paradise with 23 stables, six paddocks, a covered paddock, and horse walker.

Expert coaching is available for children and adults, from beginners to advanced riders up to competition level. Our wide-ranging family of horses includes ponies and mini Shetland ponies for the youngest riders. The level of expertise, accommodation, and care is such that many residents bring their own horses to be looked after here.

One of the most popular leisure activities among our residents is to disconnect and spend time with their children exploring the beautiful natural surroundings of Zagaleta on horseback. The many routes on the estate cover wooded groves and green valleys where you can enjoy majestic mountain and sea views, spot birds and other animals.

The beautiful Zagaleta estate offers stunning natural scenery to be explored on horseback, on foot or on two wheels. The gentle wooded hills offer panoramic views across the natural beauty of Zagaleta and surrounding mountain ranges down to the sea. The Racquet Club

Zagaleta Racquet Club features two tennis courts and a paddle tennis court in a peaceful, natural setting beside the Old Course Clubhouse.

A choice of clay or acrylic resin surfaces matches different playing styles, and professional coaching is on hand to improve the tennis or paddle tennis skills of players of all levels and ages.

This members-only club is another example of the exclusive facilities available to Zagaleta residents, and after a game, players can relax and enjoy the five-star service available from the Old Course Clubhouse.
